random bloop

Happiness. Simple as a glass of chocolate or tortuous as the heart. Bitter. Sweet. Alive.

Diving is...

- Team Torpedoz and rediscovering Torpedo Point
- getting narked and surfacing with 10 bar to spare
- spending 2 hours searching for Pinnacles just to fight the currents
- blindly finning towards the sound of a tankbanger underwater
- freezing through the thermoclimes
- drifting through a field of corals and staghorns
- hovering among a school of swirling barracuda
- swimming through a school of jacks and trevallies
- coming face to face with a cuttlefish
- snapping shots of every nudibranch
- chasing turtles for that perfect shot
- standing on the bow of the boat watching a pod of dolphins
- jumping into the water from the top deck of the boat
- snorkelling and searching for wrecks between dives

and although it's mainly about the marine life, sun, sand and sea (and much beach bumming), ultimately diving is still about the company. friends who will help you pack up the mahjong table even though they're not very sober themselves, who can fill in the time chatting through those long bus and boat rides and keep each other entertained between dives with crazy antics. friends with that same mad passion for diving and who're willing to throw money into the sea buying dive gear and going for trips. sometimes, for all it's simplicity, sebukang bay really is a good place to chill and relax with the divers. and just laze in the sun. or talk about life *grin*

anyway...photos. not many captions, cos i'm tired. but right now, very content.

I decided to start an album for nudibranchs...

a little slice of heaven

just two words. dark. chocolate.

had fondue at hq's place. which was decidedly quite fun despite there only being 4 of us from our lawr tg. good company, good food, what more d'ya need in life? and we still managed to create quite a mess even though there were so few of us (especially when cleaning up...) too bad we didn't have time for mj though. but i learnt a few interesting facts from this, like papaya doesn't go with chocolate, and grapes somehow do. (but IMO, chocolate goes with everything. but that's just me) and strawberries, blueberries and raspberries are awfully expensive fruits.

here're some photos from that night:
DARK chocolate. really really dark.

lovely dessert

before we started, things were still nice and pretty...

lavan & hq

how to properly cover a marshmellow with dripping chocolate

note the difference in the flow of chocolate from the beginning...

the aftermath...

and i managed to scrounge up dessert wine from somewhere
(which kinda sucked btw...only hq liked it)

and her dogs were DAMN CUTE!!!

meet cookie

and nancy

and the two girls fighting for their attention

becky was trying to distract them away from the kitchen

and for those of you who've wondered what i've been up to these days (i'm waitering), and what my workplace looks like (it's some random cafe), i got bored after work yesterday and took a few shots. or maybe it was just my two colleagues who were bored.

me, becky and carrie

sorry i was blocking the shot of the place...
but i'm sure you can see the background still...

the magazine racks behind look lovely don't they?

law camp 2006

i just realised it's been *a while* since i last posted. but hey, my life's been rather boring lately anyways (i.e. no diving). just had law camp last week, which was largely fun for the most part (minus the logistics and stores and setting up stations and late nights etc etc etc). the freshies were a LOT more enthusiastic than i recall myself being (though i'll allude this effect to the overwhelming majority of guys present), and it's amazing to realise that hey, i'm a year2 now. a mere 12 months ago, i was the laid-back guy stoning my way through law camp and being blindfolded for half the duration of the camp, and now i'm looking for someone to sell my yr1 texts to... (the freshies who're reading my blog *hinthint*). anyways, here're the photos from formal dinner (not much, seeing as how my camera's a tad too large to lug arnd in my pocket). but at least for once it's something other than fish and blue stuff. *grin*

the obligatory scenic shot, which didn't turn out all that well...

bunch of guys
(how else could i describe this?)

bumming with divebuddy/logshead before formal dinner...

jaredchen the ogl head
(i considered re-posting the photo we took at formal dinner last year, but i took one look and changed my mind)

the councillors of OG1
(well, those that were conveniently around at least)

yospang became my newbestfriend that night
(for being the ONLY girl who actually asked to take a photo with me)

me and kellyneo
OGL of some OG. i forget.

me with the mootpartner

weixuan looking pretty in black.
here's the story, my SP abandoned me in favour of HK (and i'm sure she's having the time of her life now), so i appealed to her best friend. who abandoned me for a freshie.
alas. story of my life. but at least i got a photo.

the flash was a BIT too bright
leonghonteng, focc chair, dressed to kill...
while i look as slack as always.

yup, so that's about it for now. until life picks up a bit. (in about 2 weeks after divecamp!) school's starting soon though. sigh. i need my nitrogen fix and sunkissed beaches.

on a random sidenote, it's funny how life can be sometimes. how you dance around in circles and never say the words you mean to say. but that's a post for another time. if ever at all.
