the first of many 21sts
so yesterday was cheryl's 21st birthday, or rather, her celebration, since the actual day's some time away. and since i'm bored sick of doing public law, i decide to blog instead, and i'll just cut the words (since i've been typing wayyyy too much already on my assignment) and go to the photos. the food was good though! and yeah, in case you were wondering at the photos, it was indian-themed. kinda. for the girls, at any rate.

random musings
today, i learnt that a 1.5l bottle of mountain dew is a rare commodity in singapore.hardly any petrol station or cheers or 7-11 stocks it.
oh. and happy valentine's to you all. even though it's technically over.

yet another sporadic update
sorry about the lack of updates, that is, if you even bother coming to check on this blog these days....been kinda caught up with work and life. oh, and exchange as well...in a pinch, lost at public law and equity, as evidenced today by my rank ignorance when the tutor questioned me about cases i'd never read before, and apparently, i've lost a few levels in my smoking ability, cos he most definitely wasn't impressed by my equivocating. in fact, he just kept shooting questions at me, till i gave up and just told him i was stupid. which led to a long lecture on how we should all be hardworking and do our readings. sigh. but at least i've started on my public law assignment, which will probably take up my new year and mid-sem break...(by started, i mean i've actually read the question...)
with regards to exchange, it appears i'll be soloing queens in kingston, ontario, canada, which is supposedly a nice quiet university town, full of young students and old retirees. something like that. at least there'll be nice scenery. which leads me to apologise for the absolute dearth of photos these days...i've misplaced my camera, and i keep forgetting it. but i promise to start again soon. once the mood returns. in the meantime, i'm working on a list of things i wanna do on exchange...more on that later.
and as for work. i'm getting bored of waitering. i mean, used to be i was curious about waitering. then it moved on to trying to learn the wines for recommendation. now i just lie. blatantly. oh, and i've forgotten all the cocktail mixes i've ever learnt as well. lack of practice. unless someone has a couple of mixes that they're willing to let me experiment on? been working less and less, and leaving earlier and earlier. and talking more rubbish with the customers, now that i've decided to be less efficient and do more people watching. it's amazing, the amount of people that make out at a restaurant, thinking that their brightly lit seats are totally inconspicuous and that half a glass of wine makes for a plausible excuse of an aphrodisiac. at least some customers are capable of intelligent conversation, if not outright witty remarks. but hey, there's exchange to look forward to, at any rate.
