because i still have a lot to learn.
today, amidst my boredom whilst essay writing, i was surfing flickr and chanced upon an autumnal photo which was really pretty. following the link, it led me to this guy's photos. which are pretty....well, pretty. shots mostly in toronto, as shown below.
same place, entirely different time, focus, and objective (skill level also very different). which makes me wonder, are we all just too busy being caught up with our lives to pay attention to what goes on around us? if we look hard enough, a good photo, some beauty, can be found in almost anything. just that we hardly bother with the effort.
so while the argument can be made that looking at life through a lens cuts you off emotionally and prevents you from experiencing life to the fullest, sometimes, looking through those lenses also gives you an entirely different perspective, and lets you appreciate life anew.
