Sea Sports Camp

sea sports camp was held at east coast sea sports club. even though all the events were nowhere nearby. but hey, we had chartered buses, so i'm not complaining. (maybe a little, cos i think that's where my hundred bucks went, but well...) anyways, we slept there for 2 nights, in a tiny air-con room. (that crammed a lot of pple inside) ok, i didn't really sleep in the room, i spent one night out in the open, and one night not sleeping at all. but wth, the idea's there.

day 1: went there late, played silly orientation games (did i mention my og's like made up of mostly nus students? ie i'm one of the few who're actually only going in this yr?) and after lunch went to s'pore yacht club to sail. or rather, wait. cos that's what we did. for about 3 hrs. cos apparently, the club only allowed a maximum number of pple inside at any one time. so the rest of us went to mac's to chill. then played frisbee. which was rather fun, but hey, it's a sea sports camp right? so we eventually got around to sailing, and shock and horror, we were sailing toppers! inside a tiny little bay! with virtually no wind! plus i had another guy with me in the craft who was supposed to teach me how to sail (notwithstanding the fact that i already knew). thankfully, it was liangwei, so we had some fun drifting and chatting and me trying to capsize him (missed my dry cap, so we both ended up wet. mutter) i heard they took out the lasers and the wind was much better for the following days, so....bleargh. unfair. liang says they're probably gonna try and learn keelboating, so i might probably go and join sailing. maybe. went back for dinner, went out to chill at mac's and pool and stuff after that. (we all, 14 of us, crammed into the back of mark's van. hahaa)

day 2: wakeboarding and windsurfing. i refuse to discuss windsurfing, cos virtually nobody managed to do any surfing at all, seeing as the water was so choppy but the wind was non-existent. anyway, wakeboarding at raffles marina (i think). it was good. i met cheryl and mingguan there. mingguan's going law too, and he's got a powerboating licence (the same one i absolutely refuse to get cos i don't wanna get arrowed) i totally loved wakeboarding!!! mainly cos i managed to do it on my first try. unlike a certain few others.... but still, although i got bruised and scraped doing strange clownish stuff on the wakeboard (like waving, hooking my arm around the handle and touching the water etc) my un-pro-ness was exhibited when i was cocky enough to try a jump. ouch. wakeboarding's a fun but violent sport. and all my photos are solely of it, cos the rest weren't worth the effort. (mean, aren't i?) played cards the whole night, zombiefied the next day. but it was canoeing in a bathtub, so who cares?

not even gonna talk about canoeing, cos it was a freaking bathtub, and rather boring. but i went back to kallang to row, which felt pretty damned good! although i missed the crowd and the 'red army' and all that jazz. all moved to macritchie liao. which reminds me. i went back there, and the place totally sucks. it's so...quiet and tranquil! totally no fight and fire anymore. haiz. or maybe it's just me.

oh, did i mention there was a barbeque on the second night? or that most of my free time was spent playing uno stacko, which was really fun, but somehow, i didn't think i'd spent the money just to come play that game....anyways, here're the photos of the camp (mostly stolen from other cameras, so excuse the lousy quality). enjoy!!

cramped in a van (14 pax total)

the OG at East Coast Macdonald's

i'd love to say that was me, but it isn't

this is me instead. (only capable of waving, not jumping)

picture of the OG at night

and of course, the uno stacko bunch!!!
